Christmas is the best. I started mentally prepping the roomie for all of my holiday spirit before Halloween even rolled around. And as everyone knows, with Christmas comes lots of gift giving (and, let’s be honest, a little receiving).
The easiest gifts to give are the cute Target or Wal-Mart candles that don’t actually smell when lit, the bottle of wine you got as a gift but know you’ll never drink, and gift cards to any chain restaurant. But for me, it’s super important to give thoughtfully and I encourage you to do the same. It makes gift giving so rewarding! Make a list of the people you’d like to give gifts to this year, devote a little time to brainstorming what each of them would really appreciate, and check out my ideas for a jumpstart on your holiday shopping.
Disclaimer: Some of my ideas aren’t exclusively for ladies, but most are. I’ll let my roomie give you the scoop on what to get the men next week. Stay tuned.
For the gal who loves a night out on the town (or needs one):
This sassy, velvet top will move with her when she hits the dance floor. PLUS, it’s budget-friendly!
For the friend that is constantly talking about their travel dreams and never acts on them:
A gift card that can only be used for airline purchases will jumpstart your friend’s willingness to cure their travel bug (look up Delta, Southwest gift cards). If you think they’d want to pick their own airline, give them an Airbnb gift card for flexibility. Stay away from generic gift cards – like American Express ones – that might end up being used to buy toilet paper and cough syrup instead.
For the podcast addict (or slacking book club member):
Give the gift of a 3-month membership to Audible! I’m itching for a subscription to this since I spend a decent amount of time in the car and have a giant list of books I want to read. Audio books sound amazing to me.
For the social media star who appreciates a good glass of red and a great Insta:
I can see these thin-stemmed beauties clinking in a carefully crafted Boomerang already. And these are a modern, pretty take on traditional wine glasses.
For the hostess that always makes everyone play a game:
A game that can be as naughty or nice as you choose to make it is the perfect gift!
For the friend who takes #MeTime so seriously:
This amazingly decadent bath and shower gel is perfect for your friend who appreciates great products. Using it makes me feel so luxurious! In my opinion, roll-on perfume is brilliant. Gift this light, fresh scent to your friend who always has to smell yummy.
For the pet parent you’re willing to spend $169 on:
Let your friend obsess over their fur baby from afar and even give them treats when they’re away. As a corgi mama, I want this…desperately. Leaving Penny in the morning is the worst part of my day!
For the one that bought the latest iPhone purely for the fancy camera:
Download her favorite Instagram shots from Facebook and order these adorable magnets fast! I have about 30 of these little memories on my fridge right now and they’re my favorites. They will also make your friend(s) feel so loved.
For the chick who actually uses her double ear piercings:
Lots of sparkle and shine on a Target budget (I own these), festive tassels that would thrive on a dancing queen, and simple gold studs for a classy, preppy look.
For your kid sister who is still living the dream in college:
Help solidify her status as the cool girl. These are affordable and look super hip (really cool word choice, right?).
For the friend that coordinates the coasters (I’m guilty at Christmas):
Marble hexagons? So trendy; I’m in. And I bought and love these mod red coasters.
What’s the best gift you’ve ever given? And which of these ideas would you want to receive?
