We are already up at the lake for the weekend and I’m already feeling revived up here. 🤗 Here are my five things for the week!
1. These Super Cheap DIY Planters
I showed this project to the roomie and he made a comment about how these would also look amazing inside. I totally agree! My head is spinning with all the places that these could go to—kitchens full of herbs, faux succulents at the end of a hallway or in a living room, smaller versions in a bathroom, and of course, tons of these on all the patios everywhere. So obsessed! Check out how she made them (for $10, not counting plants) in her story highlights. 🙂
2. Pre-Work Dates
I’m not a morning person and this certainly isn’t news to anyone who knows me at all. I like to stay up late and usually my creativity kicks in (or at least my procrastination instincts) at night, not in the morning. However, this week I got coffee with a friend before she headed to work and it was the best start to the day I could’ve asked for. I love that I was already at a coffee shop which forced me to stay and work after, but I truly felt so refreshed just starting my day by talking with a friend rather than scrolling Insta or watching the news. Try a pre-work coffee date out and I guarantee you’ll feel revived (especially if you pick a wildly supportive friend like my college roomie). 💕
3. “Lost In My Mind” by The Head and the Heart
I love this song. My uncle makes a summer playlist every year for the boat and this was on it years ago, but it still triggers all the happy lake and summer vibes for me. I’ve been playing it on repeat and I quite literally get lost in my mind when it plays.
4. Staying Productive
I’m most productive at coffee shops, which I think is mostly because it’s outside of my usual environment and other people are watching. In a weird way, that makes me think people are holding me accountable. BUT, I also can be productive when working from home if I change up what spot I’m working in. I work a lot from my kitchen table, but spent some time sitting at my desk this week and loved how productive I felt. (Do you remember my mini home office space?) For me, a change of scenery can make all the difference!
5. This Random Act of Kindness
The youngest of my nanny girls (3 y.o.) came to my house this week and we noticed that my widowed neighbor was sitting outside. She instinctively said “Can we take cookies over to her?!” which just struck me as such an act of kindness from such a little girl. We ended up making brownies, so she could run them over to her. ❤️ My neighbor had come by in the past to pick up some of my baking and the girls had been worried about her since she said she wasn’t feeling well. I love that at only 3, my nanny girl is already extending kindness to others just because. How can we all be more like her?
Off to hop on the boat! Hoping you’ve got fun pre-holiday plans this week, too. TGIF! 😘
