Our little family snuck in a last-minute trip to the lake last weekend and it was just the best. I love making plans, but sometimes it feels good to do something last minute. We caught a gorgeous sunset, ate Nutty Bars, snuck in naps, took out the boat, and got lots of family time in! It was so needed.
Here’s this week’s 5:
1. Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color in Very Cranberry
I wore this brand and shade on my wedding day. Loved it then and still love wearing it now. My sister even bought it after wearing it on wedding day and loves it! I have always been a lipstick fan, but this stuff is a whole new world. It’s almost like painting on lip color, but you apply a chapstick (pretty much) to seal it for the day. It. Stays. On. Through. Anything. I’m impressed time and time again. I got it at Target, but it should be available at Walmart, too!
2. Wingback Headboards
This style of headboard seems so fancy and decadent to me. I think it makes a bed feel more grand simply by wrapping around the sides just enough to make a bed look somehow cozier and larger at the same time. This version of the headboard style from Crate & Barrel is a sleek, modern take on the look, while this one from Overstock is the more traditional style we’re all used to seeing.
3. My Go-To Meal
I can’t stop making my quick and chunky guacamole (you can see how I make it here). Sincerely, I eat an avocado every day, but this week at least I bought some healthy chips (I bought these at Costco for way less than that Amazon price)! I’ve also been eating strawberries nonstop—sometimes in place of a meal altogether. The key, for me, is to immediately rinse and chop them up when you get home from the store. They’ll be gone in a snap! And yes, this is a real dinner I “cooked” for myself and a friend. 🙂 The roomie was off duty for the night!
4. Luxurious Master Bathrooms
A friend just bought a home straight out of the ‘70s that was built custom and has so much amazing potential. I’ve been dreaming of her future master bathroom and I’m so envious already! My dream is to have a big bathroom that reminds me of a spa someday. Just one with enough room to put a little wood shelf/stand for rolled up towels (these are available at Home Goods), big jars of bath salts, and a walk-in shower tiled floor to ceiling. You know, just your run-of-the-mill Pinterest bathroom goals.
5. Summer Rainstorms
I’ve loved these soft rain storms that have been coming through this week. We had a couple at the lake and multiples here at home and each one feels so refreshing to me. I always look at warm rainy days like these as days to slow down. At the lake, rainy days are so lovely since we all pull on sweatshirts and get to enjoy our house together. We’re also more likely to go shopping or antiquing around the area! At home, they remind me how grateful I am to have a home to snuggle up in with my family.
As always, wishing you the best weekend! And if you think of it, please share my blog with any friends of yours that you think would enjoy it. It means the world to me when you do! ❤️
