When I write these each week, I really do try to talk about things that happened or inspired me this week. Well, this week I got a terrible cold that spiraled into an aggressive migraine and just as I was getting better I tripped down 75% of our hardwood stairs…hard. I felt like an old lady because of these things, but I’m crediting my nanny girls for keeping me positive and happy as ever! Kids sure have an amazing way of distracting you and seeing allllll the good. ☀️
Here’s what I came up with for this week:
1. Honey Citrus Mint Tea
This is a tried-and-true favorite of mine at Starbucks. I hadn’t ordered it in quite a while until this week when I was struggling with my cold. I’m not very Starbucks-savvy, so I know none of the secrets, but I do know that this drink is a winner. It’s made with both Jade Citrus Mint (they often use Mint Majesty instead, which is just as yummy) and Peach Tranquility tea. The key is that it’s half hot water and half steamed lemonade, so it’s amazingly tangy and strong. They also put in honey, but I ask for only one honey since I’ve heard they use two. Try it out and let me know what you think. I love it and am totally heading to Starbucks for one in a minute because I’m craving it now. Gotta kick the last of this cold!
2. These INCREDIBLE Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies
Everyone who tried these loved them and I was shocked by how delicious they turned out. The cookies have some oatmeal in them, so they’re just the right amount of chewy! These are so much simpler than you’d think and you likely have all the ingredients in your pantry already. Give this recipe a try and if you have littles, I made this batch with a 3-year-old’s help so they’re kid-friendly. ☺️
3. Our Cheap Sheets
We registered for these sheets and got them as a wedding shower gift. They’re under $30 and we read tons of reviews about how wonderful they are! The sheets actually are pretty great in terms of how they feel. They’re pretty cool, so if you’re a hot sleeper these might be a good purchase. I just cooked ours in the dryer last week (our dryer has seen better days), so I’m thinking about purchasing another set. We have the white, which is a true, bright white, if you buy them. I’ve used bleach on them plenty of times and they’ve held up well. Sweet dreams! 😉
4. Nashville, the TV Series
I swear this show was made for me and I can’t believe it took me so long to give it a try! Although watching shows live isn’t nearly as fulfilling (hi, my name is Anna and I love to binge TV shows). It’s got drama, it’s based in a city I love so much, and most importantly, it’s full of music. As I’m writing about it, I’m realizing I love it because the performances in the show make me feel the same level of excitement that I get at concerts or watching any musician play live. I’m still on season 1, but I already recommend the series and watch it on Hulu.
5. All the Summer Love Stories
I’m such a sap, but my sister and I shot both a wedding and a proposal in the past week and I’ve just been walking around looking like this emoji 😍 ever since. I was really excited to see what it felt like to capture all these love stories as a married person and it’s just as special as I imagined. It almost makes me feel nostalgic about when the roomie and I were first dating and our wedding day. It was only 5 months ago and it feels like it has been forever already! Bring me more, more, more of these beautiful couples in love as it’s such a gift to capture them all.
Wishing you naps, laughs, fun cocktails, and memory-making this weekend. Enjoy! 😘
