In our home this week, we were down one husband (work travel) and up one very cute and very crazy puppy. It was a whirlwind, but I’m excited to have Ryan home, the puppy back with its family, and my home restored to its normal state. Check out my Friday Five below!
1. This Banana Muffin Recipe
I have been on such a banana bread kick lately and needed a change. My love of baking (and of sugar) is not matched by my roomie’s love of baked goods, unfortunately, so I wanted to make something more bite-sized in hopes he’d be more likely to eat it! This recipe was a hit with us and with our neighbor—the crumble topping, especially. I used macadamia milk instead of buttermilk to add some nutty flavor and made both regular and mini muffins for snacking. It made PLENTY. ☺️ Highly recommend!
2. Very Cavallari
You guys. One of my besties and I caught the very first episode of Kristin Cavallari’s reality show when it launched last summer. I will say, honestly, that we thought it was the worst television we had ever seen. Even knowing that, it caught my eye on Hulu so I decided to give it another try recently and I am completely hooked. This second season, in particular, is so much better. I love that Kristin gets real about grieving her brother, that her children aren’t ever present in any way, and that her family and business are rooted in such an awesome city—Nashville! If you like reality TV, give this show a try (and forgive E! for the first episode or two).
3. This Spindle Bed from Amazon
Article sells a spindle headboard and frame similar to this that is almost four times as expensive as this Amazon bed! Even though it’s not Prime eligible, it still comes with free shipping! I love that it looks like West Elm, but is a great price for people not wanting to drain a paycheck on a bed. I also am such a sucker for this caramel tone of wood, am very into mid-century style, and love platform beds (ours is one!). This bed is a YES for me if I had a bedroom I was revamping.
4. YouTube
The hip, young gals in my life–my sister and goddaughter–tell me YouTube is where the action is at. I’m determined to make this blog where the action is at, but I’m excited to be incorporating some video content going forward. My sister and I’s videography company came to be when I started taking a GoPro on family vacations and editing videos with the footage, so it only seems right that I share that style of content with my blog posts. I have my first video up on my new channel that goes along with a Hawaii post I’m hoping to get up early next week! I’m sure there will be a YouTube learning curve, but I’d love it if you would subscribe to my channel! (And I’m taking any and all tips on how to get my profile to say my actual last name and not my maiden one. Sigh.)
5. Thank-You Notes
Too much of the past year of our lives has revolved around our wedding! Just kidding. But we are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as we finish up writing our thank-you notes. Everyone warned us how horrible this process would be, but I disagree. I’m so thankful for everyone’s support of our marriage. It’s cathartic, actually, to pour out some gratitude to our loved ones. It was the addressing, checking of addresses, and organization that caused stress. However, it is a beautiful thing that they are all in the mail and on their way. What a rush!
This weekend should be a busy one in our house and I’m welcoming the action! Do you enjoy having weekend plans locked in or do you like to see where the weekend takes you?

You mentioning it after I came home Nashville totally pushed me to give it another chance! Thanks, lady. 😘
