It’s been so long since I’ve done a Friday Five and I feel like I have things to recommend, you guys! And new in 2021, Ryan will be adding in his favorite things/talking about something he’s passionate about whenever I write these. 🙂 So, buckle up! Here we go…
1. My Barefoot Dreams Blanket
When Covid hit and I was super pregnant (and very scared), I purchased this expensive blanket for myself on a whim. I typically need validation before spending money on most things, so this was a big deal! Also, it was actually a deal at the time because it was briefly somewhat discounted. Luckily, it’s just as buttery soft and comforting as I’d hoped. I loved it when I got it pre-Wells, I love cuddling with my baby in it, and I’ve noticed the roomie stealing it quite a bit lately. It’s a fave around here!
2. This Decadent Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
If you need cookies in a rush or are looking for a low-cal option, this is NOT the recipe for you. 😂 I have never had to spend so much time making a cookie before, but the browned butter flavor is worth all of the waiting between steps. These babies are RICH and I feel like somehow have a caramely component with the browned butter. I would say these are a special occasion chocolate chip–I made them for my friends who just had babies this week–and I’m so grateful my friend Abby recommended them!
3. The Superstore Episode Called “Essential” (S6 E1)
Anything related to the coronavirus in the initial lockdown days feels too soon to me. . .EXCEPT this hilarious episode of Superstore. Even if you don’t watch the show at all, this episode is full of hysterical little moments/comments and is funny enough that we have watched it multiple times. We recommend it! But be ready to pay attention to all of the humor from the second you click play. You can find it on Hulu! ☺️
4. Our Coffee Machine
I’ve sung its praises before in this post about our favorite registry items, but I feel like our little latte and drip coffee maker combo from Amazon deserves some recognition. Wells requires us to have even more pep in our steps and I’m so grateful for the Costco coffee this machine brews and the lattes it provides us. It’s not a fancy Breville ($$$), but it gets the job done and I’m grateful. Thank you, budget-friendly coffee/latte maker!
5. ROOMIE’s PICK: Premium Korean BBQ Sauce (Spicy) by Chung Jung One
“This sauce has a phenomenal flavor profile. It can be used for any number of Asian dishes, but I’ve also found it’s great used as a marinade and super tasty with Asian-style chicken wings. It has been my go-to the past few months and I find it by the soy sauce at HyVee. Try it and let me know what you think! Even Anna likes it.”
Wishing you a super fun (and safe) Valentine’s weekend! 💕 We’re excited to continue our tradition of having burgers and celebrating Penny the
Corgi’s birthday!!
