Many expecting parents start dreaming of their nurseries and hunting for the perfect pieces from the moment they get pregnant, but most at least start once they hit the second trimester. Proud to report that baby girl is scheduled to arrive in 44 days and we are starting on her nursery!! 👏🏻
See my vision for her nursery below! I’ve linked the products shown for you, as well. Many of these choices have changed or shifted already based on budget/shipping times/availability, but it will be fun to look back at this once her room comes together to compare the two! She will move into Wells’ nursery, Wells is moving into Ryan’s office, and Ryan is moving his office to a spare bedroom previously full of leftover furniture. Big moves, people!!
I’m obsessed with picture frame moulding like we did in our dining room, but the roomie vetoed that. Same story with really any type of trim work (I don’t blame him) and applying wallpaper. The man rarely says no to my ideas, so I’ve come up with an alternate plan to cater to our short timeline and his lack of willingness to redo a room he painted only 18 months ago, haha. My plan is to use two large frames I already have from IKEA and frame the hoping it looks like wallpaper inset in paneling (grand wall inspiration pic below). Here’s hoping it works! 🤞🏻
In normal, non-pandemic circumstances, furniture takes forever to be made and delivered. Covid has pushed those timelines out even farther….but Wells and I chose a white dresser that was in stock at Homemakers and we *think* it will be a good height for a changing table last week! It was delivered today.
Our crib came from Target and was here within two weeks from ordering. The curtains and curtain rod were the same situation. Wallpaper took a little longer but just arrived late last week!! We’re currently waiting on a crib mattress and second changing pad (actually for Wells’ room), but I need to commit to a rug, paint color, sheets, side table, shelf or shelves, wall art or mirror, and hamper soon. …and probably newborn essentials. 🙃
Fun fact about this pregnancy—We found out our sweet baby #2 was coming the day before Wells turned 9 months old and within 48 hours of learning our new business venture was going to be a real thing. It has been a whirlwind and a really incredible time for our family, but the months have flown by as we’ve chased Wells around and built our new business together. The moment the State Fair ended (our biz is a concession stand), we shifted into baby prep mode for the first time and it has been fast and fun.
Wish us luck as we continue plugging away at her room!
