Our sweet Kit Claire was baptized this weekend and she was so blessed to be surrounded by family all day to celebrate. She wore my baptismal dress! My mom perfectly preserved it for all these years. Kit looked like an angel in it. đ¤ After church and the baptism, we all came back to our home, put Wells down for his nap, and enjoyed lunch together to celebrate our little Child of God.
It was important to me to have everyone eat together at one table, if at all possible. We moved furniture out of our favorite room in the house and broke out one of the 8-foot wooden tables Ryan built back in 2017 for our first harvest party. We added a drop leaf table to the end to give us a little more length, too. I borrowed white tablecloths from my mom and used three of Kitâs muslin swaddles as a runner. The swaddles were a last-minute addition and felt so special to me. Not to mention, so airy and feminine! The day before, I grabbed a bunch of individual stems that spoke to me at the floral shop and made three low arrangements to anchor the table. I’m still loving them so much. đ
The idea of the lunch being plated grew in my mind and became a need. I wanted everyone to sit down and enjoy their meal without passing anything other than the wine. Costco croissants were sliced and filled with Palmerâs chicken and egg salads. Everyone got a half sandwich of each kindâan idea sparked by one of my besties doing this for a shower we hosted! My mom made her yummy Ramen salad (always a hit) and fresh fruit was served.
For dessert, we served sugar cookies that I made for our girlâs big day and decaf coffee for anyone who wanted it. Ryan and I opened Kitâs cards and gifts during dessert while she practiced crawling in the background under the watchful eye of her godmother, Aunt Gracie.
It was a truly wonderful celebration for our baby girl. Such a big moment for herâthe kickoff to her faith journeyâand so special for her grandparents, aunts, and uncles to all be in attendance. Her Great Grandpa Orrie even made it, which was an enormous blessing in itself. So thankful for every part of her wonderful day. âď¸

What a wonderful memory we have of this special day. Everything was perfect. We walked out of church to a beautiful warm, sunny day. God was smiling down on all of us as we welcomed eight new babies to the family of God through baptism.
After we finished our luncheon, and Kit went down for a nap, Wells woke up from HIS nap and the celebration continued with a 2nd birthday party for Wells that was just as fun and creative with a âDaniel neighborhoodâ theme. I hope Anna posts that as well. We are all wondering, âDoes this girl ever sleepâ? It was truly so much fun! And fun to be a part of helping/watching it all come together. Bravo Anna! Well done!
