This week has been full of lunches and dinners with friends, loads of daydreaming about a backyard that’s more like an outdoor oasis, and time with my roomie! That’s a pretty great week in my book. I also got a couple blog posts up that I hope you had a chance to read through. 😉
Here are my five things for the week. Enjoy!
1. Make-Your-Own Pizza Date Night
It was our turn to host dinner for two couples we adore this month, so we chose to do a pizza night! Our friends walked in, grabbed drinks, and started loading their pre-made pizza crusts with their favorite toppers. Besides sauce and mozzarella, we had mushrooms, pepperoni, basil, sliced green pepper, and ricotta cheese as topping options. Plus, some seasoning choices. The main reason this is a great idea for a group dinner is because it’s so simple and fun for everyone to get to eat exactly what they want! Our friends loved it and it allowed us to spend less time in the kitchen and more time with our friends. 👏🏻
2. This Modern Wood Outdoor Furniture
I can’t handle my love for this outdoor furniture look. I found myself wandering through World Market last weekend, alone, and just drooling over this set. It’s too expensive for my cheap self that knows it will require furniture covers when not in use and will need to be stored inside for harsh Iowa winters…but I still love the look. World Market is running a 20% off all outdoor sale through April 29th (use code 20OUTDOOR) if you’re interested, though. If you need me, I’ll be continuing to dream about DIYing something this chic. 🤞🏻
3. I M P O S T E R S
Finding a show or movie that the roomie and I both actually enjoy is easier said than done. The other night, Ryan queued up this show on Netflix while I was finishing up a puzzle and we both were so hooked! With the amount of action that happens in the first episode, we were very confused on where the show could go…but it keeps charging on with plenty of plot twists. Try it out if you like a comedy with some depth—it’s about con artists and I’m loving it. 😍So good!
4. My Zara PomPom Sweater
I bought this sweater in Italy in March and was forced to wear it in Paris multiple days because it was so cold! I needed more layers. I loved it then and I love it now after wearing it yesterday. The pompoms are e v e r y t h i n g and I’m obsessed with the long, loose sleeves. The knit is definitely inconsistent and I already have a big ole piece of yarn hanging from it, but it’s still in fine condition and is the perfect weight. I like wearing it with a button up, but it will be nice to wear in place of a crewneck sweatshirt on chilly nights at the lake. Loving the inconsistent knit and coziness of this piece. 💁🏻♀️
5. Tinted Dry Shampoo
I’ve always been the girl who washes her hair every single night without question. Only in the past three months have I been trying out less frequent washes and I truly love my hair so much more now. Plus, it’s better for my hair! When my hair is on day 2 or 3, I swear it’s cuter! The key to that, for me, is this tinted dry shampoo. My struggle with dry shampoo in the past was that I had such a hard time blending in white product with my dark hair. I was always so self-conscious that I looked like I had scalp issues purely because I couldn’t work the powdery product in enough. 🤦🏻♀️With this Batiste spray, my hair looks voluminous and dark—just the way I like it!
Wishing you a super fun weekend! I know Ryan will be doing everything in his power to watch the Masters Tournament, so my thoughts are with all the significant others trying to peel their golfers away from the TV. 😂
